A few years ago, at around the same time, both of us began to sense God say a similar thing; ‘it’s time to gather the women.’ We both pastor city centre churches and neither of us, at that time, were particularly eager to launch a ministry specifically for women. But the call was both compelling and clear so we knew we had to act.

We began to dream about what this gathering of women would look like and we kept coming back to two words; liberation and empowerment. We were drawn to the words of Jeremiah 17:7 which beautifully illustrates a tree that ‘sends out it’s roots by the stream’ that ‘has no worries in a year of drought’ and ‘never fails to bear fruit.’

We imagined this vast company of women; like an orchard. Women empowered by the Holy Spirit to step boldly and purposefully into each season. Dynamically and deeply sustained by the truth of God’s word. Not depleted or distracted by the values of the culture. Imperfect but perfectly loved. Liberated by Jesus from all that keeps us captive in order to bring freedom to others wherever we go. 

We have seen God powerfully at work through The Orchard. Women set free, women raised up and released, women surrendered to the call of God on their lives. But we know this is only the beginning and we can’t wait to go on this journey with you.
